Cemeteries in Scotland

Greetings —

Last month, Marks and I spent two weeks in Scotland — a marvelous country with great history, beautiful lochs and lands, wonderful people and delicious cask ale. We’ll be sharing several cemeteries and sidebars with you from our travels and here are the first two: St. Cuthbert’s Burial Ground in Edinburgh and Cadavers for Sale: The Eerie Tale of Misters Burke and Hare.

Enjoy.

Traveling in Scotland & France

skull & butterfliesGreetings — Marks & I are discovering some truly entertaining and interesting cemeteries and stories. We’ll be posting them as soon as we get home and can work on them.

In the meantime, we saw this sculpture in Paris today and thought you might enjoy.

Best, Barbara

Cuba Cemeteries and Streets Updates

Greetings — With all the excitement about normalizing relations with Cuba in the near future, we thought you might enjoy a sidebar on our 2012 trip to the island where we visited two Jewish cemeteries containing Holocaust Memorials plus a special cemetery on Ernest Hemingway’s property. We found Cuba a very interesting and enjoyable place and would suggest you plan to visit before Steve Wynn and Donald Trump arrive to develop it with garish casinos.

Additionally, we’ve received emails with updates on 3 Houston area streets. Check out the Streets Section “I – P” and “Q – Z” Streets. Our thanks to the readers who sent in these additions.
