A quick story: on our guided tour, at the grave of Jeremiah O’Donovan Rossa, the guide said we were in for a special presentation. As you’ll read in the post, the eulogy for O’Donovan Rossa is a powerful part of Irish history. As we watched, a young man dressed in full Irish Volunteer uniform, marched to the grave and recited the entire eulogy. It was a very moving moment.

On our Mississippi River cruise recently, we visited New Madred, Missouri. There’s a quick sidebar about an interesting burial there.
